Are you currently preparing to take the UCAT? If so, you’ll want to know how to sign up for it, once the registration period finally rolls around. Testing takes place between 3 August and 1 October 2020, with UK registration opening on 1st July 2020.
The UCAT is delivered by Pearson VUE in their test centres and online. Before any testing can take place you need to follow a strict online two-step registration process. We’ve broken down these two-steps into bite-sized stepping stones to guide you through the art of online form filling. Let’s get started...
Start by creating a web account with Pearson VUE here before booking your test. You’ll need to register for your test personally, as this can’t be done by your school nor college. You can only create one account.
You’ll see the screen below where you’ll simply need to click on ‘Create a web account’ to get started.
First, select the small circle that says “No, I don’t know my Candidate ID.” Once you’re registered you will be emailed your Candidate ID which is used as your account number so you can be easily identifiable when contacting the UCAT consortium and when logging in online.
You will then be required to enter your personal information, including your name and date of birth. All fields with an asterisk (*) must be filled in. Remember that you’ll need to register with your legal name, exactly as it appears on your photo ID. If you don’t enter your legal name exactly as it appears on your ID (or if you do not present a valid photo ID during the check-in process), you will not be able to take your test on the day.
Your email address helps with future correspondence, so you can easily be contacted with details about your test. It will also be the email address that your results will be sent to.
You’ll then be requested to enter contact information and some additional information.
After this, you will be able to create your username, password and set security questions.
Once the process is complete you will see the message below and will receive a confirmation email.
Now that you’ve registered you can go ahead and book the best day and location for you to sit your UCAT. Our advice, from experience, is to not leave this too late as places fill up fast.
Select your exam (UCAT or UCATSEN):
Choose the option of sitting your UCAT at a test centre or online.
If you choose to sit your UCAT at a local test centre, you will go through a series of steps to select a test centre and an appointment date and time. You'll then need to pay the test fee.
If you choose to sit your UCAT online, you will be required to perform a system check before selecting your appointment date and time.
After you make the payment, you will receive a confirmation email. Congratulations, you've taken a step towards your dream medical school!
