Verbal Reasoning passages cover a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) British life and culture, trends in contemporary society and technology, artists and artworks, literary and historical figures and events, and popular science. The ideal candidate will be comfortable writing original passages in at least two or three of these areas, with the accompanying questions and explanations, all to the correct test specification.

You will work remotely on a negotiable schedule that suits your availability and interest, but you should be able to spend a minimum of 2–3 hours a week writing questions starting in October, 2023. Top performing writers may be offered the opportunity to work longer term on our question heatmap. The base rate for writing test content is £20 per hour. For candidates with two years’ paid professional writing experience, the rate will be £25 per hour.

To be considered, applicants must be graduates in the humanities, arts or modern languages. The ideal candidate will have previous writing experience and must be able to write clearly and effectively in English. We are looking to build up a team of Question Writers from a variety of backgrounds who are interested in contributing to our products on a long-term basis.
